    Global Reading Challenge 2019

    North Beach 4th & 5th Graders are invited to participate in this year's Global Reading Challenge!!

    GRC Mission:
    To encourage reading as a fun and recreational activity that allows 4th & 5th grade students of all reading abilities to engage in the sport of reading. This citywide program is a collaborative effort between the Seattle Public Library and the Seattle Public Schools.

    GRC Goals:
    To ensure the participation of children with lower reading scores throughout the city.
    To foster teamwork and cooperative thinking.
    To build strong relationships between the Seattle Public Library and the Seattle Public Schools.
    To share quality children's literature with the participants that represents a diversity of experiences at a variety of reading levels.

    All books will be provided by the Seattle Public Library. The GRC books will be distributed to students at school, however, any student interested in getting a 'head start', is welcome to visit their local library to check out one (or two...) of the book choices. Additionally, feel free to visit our partner librarian, Louisa Storia, at the Broadview Library location. She assured us that she will always have extra copies for our North Beach students!
